Your Journey to healing begins here...
Grief is defined as the natural emotional response to any significant loss or life transition, not just bereavement. At DWJ Foundation we strives to help individuals move "from grief to growth," not by "getting over" the loss, but by learning how to carry it, build resilience and find renewed meaning and purpose in life after a loss by offering care, comfort, and support with empathy and compassion, recognizing that the duration and intensity of grief are different for each person.
Individual Grief Coaching
Grief Coaching- A specialized one-on-one form of support designed to help individuals navigate the grieving process and cope with loss, illness, or any other significant trauma and prepare you for a future of hope. Unlike counseling we focus on addressing grief's emotional and psychological aspects, taking a more proactive and goal-oriented approach. Helping individuals complete the unfinished business surrounding their loss in a safe and supportive environment. .
Grief Support Groups
At the Demarco Webster Jr Foundation, we firmly believe no one should grieve alone. Our distinctive grief program ensures this by offering peer support groups that connect individuals who have experienced similar losses. This unique approach helps to normalize emotions, reduce isolation, and create a powerful sense of community. Our support groups facilitate the sharing of experiences and strategies, helping to alleviate feelings of helplessness and foster genuine connection.
Youth Grief Camp
Youth Grief Camps- Summer weekend retreats designed for children aged 7 to18, segmented into age-specific groups. These camps foster support networks among participants, leveraging outdoor activities and nature-based therapies to facilitate emotional healing and introspection. Additionally, the camps incorporate arts and crafts sessions, Journaling, as well as memorial activities, allowing the youth to honor and remember their deceased loved ones.
Healing Retreat
Healing Retreats- Weekend retreats designed for parents who have lost a child. We meet annually, providing a safe and supportive environment where parents can share stories and memories of their children. In this setting, parents openly discuss their emotional journeys, the challenges of daily life, and the importance of self-care, while caring for their families. We exchange strategies, coping mechanisms, and knowledge, offering compassion and hope to those navigating the process of grief, helping them find ways to manage their loss.
